Canada's famous War of 1812 heroine, Laura Secord, has something in common with Gem Chocolates. She didn't make chocolates, but something in her current family does! The family connection rests with our chocolatier and founder, Glenn Knowles, whose family tree reaches all the way back to Laura Secord. Glenn is an 8th generation nephew of Laura Ingersoll Secord. It's good to have a chocolatier in the family!
