A cocoa extract pill? I know I prefer eating dark chocolate rather than a pill, thank you very much! Check out this new research study: http://ca.news.yahoo.com/big-study-test-chocolate-extract-pills-heart-health-054424977.html I think the conclusion may well be: Just eat dark chocolate everyday!

On March 14th, one month after Valentine's Day, is White Day. It is the day when there's a second round of Valentine gift-giving, although this time the recipient of a Valentine gift in February gives a gift back, hence White Day is also known as Answer Day. At Gem, we love our blue and it seems the Irish do, too. The Order of St. Patrick (the patron saint of Ireland) has a blue ribbon, not green as many of us might expect. Historically, St. Patrick's Day was celebrated with the wearing of the colour blue, but has evolved into the wearing of green, now the national colour of Ireland.   Come celebrate St. Patrick's Day with limited edition chocolates: "Elixir of Life" (dark ganache infusion with Ballantine's whiskey) and "Luck of the Irish" (milk ganache infusion with Irish cream and coffee)!

We're often asked how we came up with our name. It springs from the first letter of founder, Glenn, and his two children, Eamon and Madeleine, forming GEM Chocolates. Coincidentally it also represents Glenn and his partner, Mario, in Portuguese: GeM. Perhaps the the relationship was destiny.    Of course, it helps that our chocolates look like lustrous gemstones and the packaging looks like a jewelry box, too! It all makes for a complete story and a complete brand.
